This is a great reminder to all of us who judge our work along the way. It's going to suck at the beginning, that's part of the creative process. You just can't give up- you have to give yourself the opportunity to make it better. One day it won't suck as much!
Today I came across this free desktop wallpaper design from Lisa Rupp. Isn't it pretty? The spring colors make me happy! And I don't know about you but I am so ready for spring.
The great photo wall is no more. After all that planning and inspiration gathering I decided I wanted something else. Surprise, surprise! Thank goodness I have a patient husband who is willing to let me change things up as often as I like. We replaced the photo wall with this vintage school map that I found on etsy. I absolutely love it...at least for now!
One great thing about this map is that it covers all the holes in the wall. The other great thing is that we're brushing up on our US geography. In no time at all we'll be able to list ALL the state capitals! We thought we knew them but once Ebert and I started quizzing each other we realized that our 5th grade knowledge has escaped us.
I love the color that it adds to the room. Now, I just need to find some awesome kitchen chairs. I'd love a mix and match look like this or just white chairs like this. Also, it's a great conversation piece. We had a Groundhog Day party (which I'll blog about soon) and everyone kept standing in front of the map, pointing things out and talking about it. I love a piece of art that is also educational!
This film map is awesome. There's Field of Dreams, Revolutionary Road, On The Waterfront, Valley of the Dolls, and Funny Farm to name just a few. It even has its own Red Light district. Brilliant!
Although I'm accustomed to a black & white version of Lucy, I'm absolutely loving Lucy in color. She is so striking and beautiful! This exhibit sounds pretty awesome, I'd love to see all of these portraits in person.
Do you agree that Lucy wouldn't have been as funny in color? I think a comic genius like Lucille Ball would (and will) always be funny no matter what.
I never really liked these posters. I'm not sure why, probably because I saw them every where and never understood the desire for the ones that said things like "Keep Calm and Go Shopping" or something similarly ridiculous. But after seeing this video I think I'd like one. There's something beautiful about knowing the meaning behind these words even though they were written in a time of war and sadness and terror. These simple words, why are they so powerful and meaningful now?
